Minnesota Action Steps

HF3173 and SF2789 – the Electronic Data Privacy Act, “a government entity may not obtain personal identifying information concerning an individual without a search warrant.”  (learn more here)

SF2466 the Freedom From Location Surveillance Act. If passed, the state would be banned from obtaining “current or future location information pertaining to a person” without a court order based on probable cause.
