Oklahoma Committee Passes Bill to Limit Warrantless Electronic Data Collection, Hinder Federal Surveillance

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 28, 2019) – On Tuesday, an Oklahoma Senate committee unanimously passed a bill that would limit the warrantless use of stingray devices to track people’s location and sweep up electronic communications and more broadly protect the privacy of electronic data. The proposed law would also hinder the federal surveillance state.
